Partnerships
See descriptions below for ABC, El Rancho descriptions, and USC.
ABC Unified & El Rancho
We have partnered with the ABC Unified School District for over 7 years now, beginning with an SAT Course for all students who fell under the poverty line, to a fast evolution into a College Academy for 100 students funded by the district. During the pandemic, we offered 3,000 students virtual learning opportunities from homework support to math teaching for those who were in the Virtual Academy. As schools began to find their normal again, we continued our teaching by visiting the sites after school and offering In The Zone, which are math foundational courses in hopes of filling in a lot of the academic gaps that the pandemic created.
Our partnerships expanded into the El Rancho Unified School District where we visited all elementary schools right after school to offer our Math Advance and Fluency and Beyond programs. Here, we worked with groups of 10-20 students and helped them strengthen a lot of the core fundamentals of their math levels and their phonics and fluency.
USC
Our partnership with the USC Pathways Program has been ongoing for over 7 years now and it all began when we presented a seminar on Financial Aid to their students and parents. Since then, we have evolved together offering college application seminars, SAT Preparation classes and now focusing on building strong English and Math foundations to their middle school and high school students.
The USC PA Pathways Program (formerly known as the USC PA Pipeline Program) aims to provide equity, diversity, and inclusion to youth who identify as black, Latino/a, LGTBQ+, indigenous, first-generation students and those educationally and economically disadvantaged by providing services and resources to support their educational development and personal career paths. Exposing participants to an array of health careers. Students from the Primary Care PA Program at USC, support and mentor through the USC PA Pathways Program with an emphasis on equity-based health care in their own education and practice.
Through our partnership, we have collaborated to strengthen this population of students’ chances to enter higher education by building academic foundations that will lead them to developing a powerful case for their college acceptance.
